Marvatten is a post-rock/post-metal band from Gothenburg, formed in 2022 by a collective of musicians who share a passion for building atmospheric, ever expanding, crescendos. The band crafts music that evolves organically through improvisation and intuition, allowing each track to take on a life of its own.
Born from a city where the rain meets the sea, Marvatten weaves sounds that capture the wistfulness of the mist-covered swamps and forests of the Gothenburg area.Their music flows like nature itself—ever-changing, unpredictable, brooding and melancholic, embodying the phrase "The night is darkest before the dawn”.
Their upcoming series of releases, "Unscripted Moments", are collections of their most powerful improvised jam sessions—a journey through both the familiar and the unexpected. Each track invites you to lose yourself in the ebb and flow of sound, where emotions are laid bare and time seems to stand still. Sit back, pour yourself a glass of wine, and embark on a journey to the bottom of the sea.
